Got in my 2012 2500 and it was 26 out but the grid heater light only stayed on for a few seconds and went off, i turned key off and back on to be sure and it did the same so i started the truck.

Let it warm up some and headed out the drive way it was fine for the first mile then any time the truck got below 1500 rpm it sounded like the exhaust brake was on. The button was off but at any speed or gear 25-65 mph anytime the rpm dropped below 1500 it would kick on. At a red light i put it in park and let it idle no noise but if i revved it or put it in high idle it would do the same noise. Which made me think some type of leak in the intake area at 70mph i let off the gas it kicks on but doesn't really feel as if im being slowed down by the exhaust brake. Any clues? Online shows turbo going out /exhaust leak and some say fan tensioner. Or could it be frozen water pump. Coolant, oil pressure and trans temp read normal area.

OK.. First Find someone that Has WITECH and knows how to use it..Don't assume the Dealer techs know the work arounds on the navigation available...The 1st item would be Stationary de-soot. than test the system, turbo etc, It will also allow Turbo re-settings...Yep I see dealers bypassing certain venues just to save time... and charge $$$$...Not all but some..

Thanks. Ill have to check around but most what we have here is mom and pop service stations that always say take it to the dealer when it involves more then oil, tires or spark plugs. If it was turbo or soot build up do you think it would last a 65 min drive, as anything over 2000 rpm it runs prefect, also what would be a sign its about to blow up. No dash lights as of now.

Thanks, ill have to check around. I did drive it some today up to the corner store and it wasn't making the big noise like before where it was shaking the whole petal and steering column, it was just a low squil about like a power steering whine. However when i got back to the truck tge check engine light was on. I did the 3 key turn and it displayed P0606 and P1192. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Back to WITECH, for any Number of things can cause the P0606, its random and can exist for long periods of time ... nuisance code .... Glad you don't have P2509. I just recommended burning the truck down for that code...Its taken Me weeks to fine the cause of Most 2509s and $$$$

Well i plugged in my normal OBD2 connector and ran it. It returned p2228, p2229, p0102, p1193. But no p1192 nor is it showing p1192 on the 3 key turn test.

P0102 MAF Sens Low frequency, P2228 Barometric Press Circ Low
,P2229 Barometric Press Circ Hi,
P1192 Inlet Air Temp Sens Voltage Low
,P1193 Inlet Air Temp Voltage Hi ,Start checking Intake ,form inlet housing to turbo inlet... its all guess work W/O Witech.

Yeah. I printed out the list and discriptions when i scanned it.

I second the battery test. The cold weather will definitely show the batteries weakness and weak batteries will cause all types of codes.

Thanks all. Think the whine may be a pump, found some transmission fluid on the ground and although still red it smelt like it had 300,000 miles on it, after looking around the hose on the bottom of the trans cooler was dripping and dang near looks melted closed and the metal clamp looks corroded. And While checking the connections the other day while under the hood i also unhooked and tested each battery individual and reconnected them. Load test was good on both as should be being only 3 mo old. Was advised by 2 independent service center and dodge dealer not to drive. Its getting towed in come tues and ill get a loaner car from service center.

Update. Got the truck back. Everything is now running smooth. The tech even worked the weekend so he could get the truck back to me, new hose to replace the melted one and did a full service on transmission including filter and all new fluids. He did find out the power steering pump had a whine and was low on fluid. He Cleaning and refilling it checked all belts and pulleys drove it and returned it Tuesday. No problems so far and smooth driving.

Very good, glad it all worked out! Did the tech give any sort of explanation regarding the codes? I'm not understanding how the trans line repair and the PS pump would cause the other codes.

Thanks for the update.

Cheers,
