Got in my 2012 2500 and it was 26 out but the grid heater light only stayed on for a few seconds and went off, i turned key off and back on to be sure and it did the same so i started the truck.
Let it warm up some and headed out the drive way it was fine for the first mile then any time the truck got below 1500 rpm it sounded like the exhaust brake was on. The button was off but at any speed or gear 25-65 mph anytime the rpm dropped below 1500 it would kick on. At a red light i put it in park and let it idle no noise but if i revved it or put it in high idle it would do the same noise. Which made me think some type of leak in the intake area at 70mph i let off the gas it kicks on but doesn't really feel as if im being slowed down by the exhaust brake. Any clues? Online shows turbo going out /exhaust leak and some say fan tensioner. Or could it be frozen water pump. Coolant, oil pressure and trans temp read normal area.
