Is there a special tool to tighten the fuel line connections when a leak occurs there? It always seems to bethe back/lower connection that leaks and it is difficult to get to.

make sure the line doesn't have a hairline fracture in it. I just had one of mine that was leaking and i thought it was a washer, it was a crack!!

Check for a cracked line. You do not want to break one of those banjo bolts in the pump, it is a lot of trouble to get them back out. They should take a either a 17 or 18mm wrench if I can remember correctly. They are only to be tightened to around 18 ftlb.

I have tightened the 17 (11/16) nut/fitting and the leak stopped, I am told that they might vibrate loose from time to time and was asking about a special tool, as it took standing on my head, using my big toe, right and left hands and a couple teeth to get the job done at the part of the bottom of the pump nearest the block. And of course that was the one that was leaking. I could see the leak was coming from the center of the nut/fitting and squirting along the input line.
