My high side coupler near the battery is leaking refirg. and oil all over the place. It doesn't have a schrader valve in it but rather a little rubber ball looking thing. When I charge it and start the motor it sprays it all out everywhere. I tried to find a replacement valve but couldn't find one - the part stores want to replace the whole line. Anyone else have this problem and how did you fix it?

Auto Zone has/had the valve kit. The check ball is replaceable you will need 2 wrenches and the seam is not visible. When mine leaked years ago I was told the same thing and bought the complete line. Years later I read some where the valve was replaceable. I had saved the old line and put 2 wrenches on it and with enough muxcle sure enough the top part came off.

Thanks Dave. Napa had the a similar part too. In the book theu couldn't find anything but I handed him the old one and he found one on the shelf. $6 beats $100+ for the whole hose anyday!

Makes you wonder how many lines have been sold. Mine leaked after hooking up the gauges. Haven't connected to the high side since, scared to death of another leak.

Dave

The ball style valves very commonly leak after having gauges hooked up. Make sure you only screw your gauge coupler down enough to get a reading. Also, sometimes the fittings can be had at a parts house. The dealer should also have it and shouldn't be too much higher.
