My cab lights started leaking a couple of weeks ago. Noticed it Monday as it was raining while I was driving so I pulled into the auto parts store and got me some permatex. It has quit raining when I got home, so I popped them loose and put me a little permatex on the seal and screw holes and put them back together. We will see if that gets it done! Cheaper than a set of lights when mine are not cracked anywhere. Also replaced the bulb in the light that was out.

I will let you know if this fixed my leak. It is supposed to rain today and heavy rain tomorrow. Should prove if the fix is good!

if it still leaks after a couple of days look at the lights for water inside. pretty easy to see.

If there is you have a crack.

Clear silicone over the crack and only snug the lights down.

Too many get carried away when tightening. End up crackin' the lens.

It's funny, I've had two Dodge trucks since 1995 with clearance lights and never had one leak. Ok, maybe it doesn't rain much in New Mexico, but it does at the places we go to with the truck and RV.

This is the first Ram that has leaked here for me. I have had a '92 and a '99 prior to the '05 and neither of the leaked.

I snugged lightly when I put them back on. Should be good there. Rain will tell.

There was a TSB in 05 for leaking cab lights. The gaskets on my 05 were a cheesy 1/4" wide piece of foam. I upgraded to the clear lights from a 4th gen a few months back and the gasket is nearly the size of the light and high quality rubber.

If it continues to leak you may look into a new set, 5 clear OEM's can be had for under $100.

I guess one would literally need to live on the internet and or forums and diligently look for and use the TSB's and doing so ALL WITHIN THE WARRANTY PERIOD to take advantage of it. Now 7yrs old and 244K no warranty help available...
