It's been dripping fuel slowly for weeks, but just upped the pace to unacceptable this morning. For the last couple years, its had an issue where if you floored it and let go it would stall or at least come close. This problem has gotten worse overnight as well.

The (non diesel specific) repair shop i took it to quoted $2,600 parts and labor, getting the pump from the dealer for $2,100 or so.

A local diesel perfromance shop can get a remanuctured Bosch pump for just over a grand, but they are a week or more out on back order.

Without seeing it, they don't know if they might be able to fix it. Could be just seals, or could be something more terminal.

Local parts store I called says they can't get one.

Where else can I find this pump quickly, like overnight?

Are there some brands to avoid?

Thanks. I really need this back up by the weekend.

I spoke to Todd. He seemed quite helpful. I will buy the pump from him, if the used one I have lined up falls through. I think I have a friend of a friend that is going to install a pump for a very reasonable fee. only draw back is waiting for next week and he's an hour north of here.

Good luck with yours Ncatlin, and thanks for the suggestion MGreer.

There is a seal kit you can get for them but you have to partially dis-assemble the pump. It won't fix a problem with a sealing surface gone bad though so it is not a sure fire cure.
