Archived Leaking injectors

I searched the archives re leaking injectors. I could not find an answer there.



Traveling NC to OR and injectors leaking damp at first and now about a 1/2 cup.

Can the injectors be tightened to stop the leak till I get back to OR?

Will new copper washers stop the leaks?



I have a 1997 2wd 2500 5 speed pulling 13 k fifth wheel.



If I can make it home I would replace with 215 injectors rather than 185 injectors.





Your assistance will be appreciated.

Where are they leaking? Like at the nuts? All of them or just one? are you certain it is fuel?

I cannot tell where they are leaking yet. I spray washed them so that I will be able to tell tomorrow. They were all a little moist before, but one or two started to weep more.



That is all I can see right now.

It is more likely you're seeing oil that has leaked form the valve covers. 12 valve injectors have very few problems and to have multiple external leaks show up at the same time is highly unlikely. Regardless, I can't imagine anything that would not allow you to get home.
