Can our steering pumps be rebuilt? My lines are fine but I've got fluid seeping. My fluid is also stinky again (after 1+ year with synthetic) and brake power is not great. I know I need to change fluid, but also want to know about the unit itself.

You can get a seal kit. Do the vac pump while you are in there. Search the archives for the kit vendor and you should have no trouble finding it.

The pumps are only about $100. That's why I swapped mine instead of rebuilding it.

Great information; thanks folks. I have a big race the next 4 days and will see how it does (making sure not to soil the track). I'll probably put it off as long as possible but it will be nice to be prepared. I'm sure it will have to be done before summer's over...
