So I'm doing regular maintenance on the truck (rear brakes, etc. ) when I notice the front cross member under the engine is covered in oil (dripping). I know this hasn't been for very long as the driveway has no puddles or marks on it except for whats dripping right know. So I clean the whole area as the fan has also moved it around somewhat and basically had figured it was the hose that connects the turbo return line to the block. I started the truck back up and do a little inspecting now that things are somewhat clean and notice oil running out of the seam of the edge of the oil filter, It wasn't the rubber seal as this area was still clean. I replaced the filter and problem is solved. I figured I just wanted to pass this along as another possible place for an oil leak,

I had a very similar thing happen to me recently but with my napa fuel filter. If only all oil leaks were that easy to fix.

I would send the picture to fleetguard. They may want the filter back for testing. I'm sure they would take care of you too.

How come you are not using the much better Stratapore 3894 filter? Although it has nothing to do w/ the seam leak.

Good idea about sending to Fleetguard. Good question about the 3894, I usuallly get my oil/filters from my local cummins dealer in a box and this must be what they set me up with last time, Never really questioned it, But next time I will,
