Has anyone replaced the rear seal on a light duty transfer case? I could use some advice on this ASAP.

Moderators, please move if there is a better place for this question.

Thanks guys.

Piece of cake. Pull the driveshaft pop out the old and tap in the new,the new style factory seal has a hole in the dust seal portion it is to be located at the bottom.

Take the old one with you to match it up. My HD case was difficult to find a match. Don't ask why... I ended up at Dodge ($$ as always) but they had one. What $ucked was it still leaks a little.

Thanks. :) Bill K gave me the rundown today as well. I got a seal at Napa. It was cheap; I hope it's right since there are no dealers near me (I heard there can be trouble finding the right one, but I did watch the guy look it up... ).

With any luck it won't rain when I do it.

Got 'er done. $7 from Napa and easy to do. Hope it lasts (at least until the case has to be pulled; how much can a light duty take? lol).

Thanks for the help. :)

I have 12 years of abusing my l/duty transfer case... ..... Sled pull. drag racing and sand duning. So far so good.
