Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Leaking transfer case.

I have a leak where the transfer case mounts to the transmission. There is one mounting nut that is pretty loose at the bottom of the transfer case. This is where I think the leak is. It is a 9/16 nut. The support bracket under the transfer case makes it almost impossible to get a wrench on it. I should have mounted the transfer case to the transmission before installing the support brackets. #@$%!.

Can anyone suggest a tool that might do the job?I did this install months ago and didn't think that one loose nut would matter.

I guess a more important question is should there be fluid there in the first place?If yes I just have to tighten up that loose nut somehow. If no fluid

should be there it could be from the transmission or transfer case. Which means a seal needs to be replaced.

Talked to a transfer case rebuilder. He was not sure if there should be fluid from the transmission between the transfer case and trans. He said for sure there wouldn't be fluid from the transfer case there. How about it. Any takers. Any transmission builders out there. I found a ratcheting open end wrench but it doesn't quite fit. Looks like I will need to grind off some of the support bracket

in order to get to this #@$%! nut. I don't want to do it until I am sure about

the source of the fluid. If it is a leaking seal then I know I will have to pull the transfer case. Maybe I should explore using some kind of UV dye. Any recommendation's.
