I replaced my head gasket a couple of weeks ago. When I installed the valve covers # 3,4,5,6 leaked. Worked on them again and then 4,5,6 were leaking. I retorqued the head this past weekend and used new gaskets since the others were leaking and I haven't had the best of luck with them. I know they are reusable but, like I said not much luck with them. After work today the puddle of oil was more than before. What am I doing wrong. Are the washers from the studs lifting the sides just a little? That seems to be the area where the oil is leaking. Do I have some type of excess pressure that is causing this to happen. Before I did the HG I had oil leaking out of the dip stick tube, but that isn't happening anymore. I don't know what else to do with these things. No leaking would be great. At least I don't have anti-freeze leaking anymore.

Thanks

Thomas

Tom. .

You have to remove some of the extra webbing material inside the valve cover with a dremel tool where the head studs are at. When you try and torque down the valve covers they hit stud and will not seal correctly. The head studs are longer than the head bolts which is the reason for your leaks. If you have any questions call me I'll PM you a number if you need it... ..... Andy
