Well,
I have been smelling raw diesel lately and found out that the fuel lines (both) are leaking at the area where the Stainless Steel braded hoses connect to the steel fuel lines on the driver's side inside frame rail.
Having them replaced (tank to hoses) Friday ... hope I don't loose to much diesel driving to the shop.
Machanic said that the original fuel lines for this truck are no longer maid and in (98 or 99) stainless steel fuel lines were used that don't fit exactly like the '97 or less year trucks, so he will have to do some bending.
Question ... how can I keep from this happening again? any covering for the steel lines from the pump the tank? Since I don't have a garage and the NH winter salt eats through just about everything, I need to see if I can wrap these things in something ... any ideas?
