Hasn't anybody made a custom

Single axle Brakes

Well, after asking lots of questions about potential leaks with slideouts and getting the answer that they don't leak, we bought a new travel trailer with a small slide. Had the first good rain over the weekend and guess what? The damned thing leaks. I checked it yesterday and found water on the floor at both ends of the slide and also had water sitting on the top of the slide. The slide was not extended, was all the way in. It looks like the top of the slide is barely hitting the rubber seal at the top outside while the bottom is hard against the seal.

Guess its time to take it back to the dealer and get ready to argue with them. Sure didn't get a new trailer to have this type of problem. This will be the third time back to the dealer since we bought it in August. All the problems have been different ones.

Oh yea, trailer is a Komfort. Barry, any comments?

Don't worry, with a new rig you won't get any static from the dealer. All it requires is a minor adjustment on the slide mechanism. However, if you do not already have one, I would highly recommend a slide topper. It is like an awning that covers the top of the room when it is extended. It not only keeps the top dry in the rain, but keeps the sun and bird droppings off and out of the inside of the rig when you pull it back in to move. You will never regret it! ;) Sarge

I've been considering this but wanted to see if the thing leaked first. I'll get that fixed first then get one of the slide covers you are talking about. Thanks for the input.

camping world has a good deal on them. see how much they cost and join presidents club if it saves you. First get on there mailing list, you will get coupons for free shipping over the winter!

These covers ship by a truck as there to long for UPS, free shipping coupons save you big time on this item.

I put them on my Terry and it solved lots of problems. snow on top of the slide roof while camping one day was my first problem.

then I found a leak, where water was collecting in the bottom rodent guard of the slide.

Then the leaves and branches collecting on the slide roofs can tair up the gaskets

slide topper fixed all problems :)

Just be sure to mount the roller side higher then the slide end. (see the directions). My 13' cover drops around 6" in 4', but will collect water in the rain, just close the slide a couple inches at a time and let the water run off, then reopen the slide and everything will dry.

Talked to the dealer today. Told them what it looks like and they said no problem, bring it in and we will adjust the slide. Said it is not a big deal. Sooooo, we'll see what happens. Will take it in next week. Then I guess I'll need to make a trip to my local Camping World store for a slide awning.
