What is a good leather cleaner and conditioner to use on the steering wheel to keep it looking new and not the freshly greased look?? I have heard lots of good stuff about Lexol cleaner and conditioner, but how about any other brands? I was at AutoZone and saw some "all-in-one" cleaner/conditioner by Meguires (Gold class leather cleaner and conditioner and also those new Gold Class leather deposable wipes) I also saw some stuff from Eagle One, and Blue Magic. I like the idea of an all-in-one formula, but suspect the separate cleaner and conditioner products may be better.

Need some recommendations.

I use the Meguires leather cleaner and conditioner on my seats and steering wheel and like it. I have tried the wipes and was not very happy with them. Too dry, needed about five wipes to do the job.

I use Lexol cleaner followed by Lexol conditioner. Works great, but can't say compaired to the Meguires. I use Meguires Deep Crystal 1,2,3 products on the exterior and love em. I think either is good as long as you don't let the leather dry out and scuff.

Lexol

I use the Lexol cleaner and conditioner twice a month on the wheel- I have used it on my abused leather interior on a 95 Tahoe for years and the seats look great- use sparingly. I have the same large bottle for three years- got it in a saddle shop.

I went ahead and got the Lexol leather cleaner and leather conditioner. I only had time to use the cleaner today. The steering wheel on my '95 must have been pretty grimmy because I spent 30 minutes scrubbing with a cotton applicator pad and tooth brush (and think I only got the initial layers of grime and vinyl protectant off). It was getting dark so I had to stop. I'll see what it looks like in the morning, but I have a feeling I may have to hit it again with the cleaner and scrub brush, the steering wheel still has a sticky/tacky feel to it, but at least it dosn't have quite the greased look from all the years of use and Vinyl protectant applications. I'll let you know how it turns out. If all turns out well after appling the conditioner, I'll apply it to the steering wheel of my new 2002 truck (don't think it needs the leather cleaner treatment yet anyway);)
