Ok Just got a new 3500,single wheel,Crew,350/650 Torque. Absolutely awesome truck traded my 1997 Ram Diesel. Now I want to convert to LED stop and tail?? Do I need to put in a resistor for the turn sigs ??? I understand that there are not flahers now ??? Things have changed since I last worked on this stuff. !!!!!Anyone help ??? Thanks to all that can help.

My truck has LED lights for all rear lighting. It requires resistors at each light so the electrical load remains same as incandescent or the bulb out display on dash will stay on.

I had to install a resistor for every light when I removed the incandescent lamps provided in my CM flatbed to replace them with LED lamps.

so does anybody have a 2011 ?????? I understand that the older ones need a resistor ,but the new 2011 doesn't even use a flasher / Correct. ???I am still in the dark, are some of the lights that ram use led's ?????I see the puddle light is a LED ? So who has the final word on this.

Do a search on here and if you can't find it google the 2011 dodge body builders guide. I don't have the link off hand but harvey has posted it a couple times before. It has some information about converting to LEDs. Basically the dealer can flash your truck and add a sales code for LED lights. I dont remember the code. I did my truck all LEDs no resistors, no bulb out warning and the blinkers blink at the correct rate. Took tech at dealer about 15 minutes to change the code.

Plug & Play

I just upgraded my tail lights to LED. For my truck, it was a simple swap.

It did state on the box that trucks with "bulb-out" warning lights may need to add a resistor due to the low power draw of the LEDs. Fortunately, I don't have that feature.

They work great and are very bright, both stop and turn. I also have an LED 3rd brake light which I will install soon.

I converted my '03 tail lights to LED and my '96 has had them for years. Both are flatbeds. On the '03, it had the "lamp out" indicator activate. I added resistors, but still occasionally got the "lamp out". After asking on here for solutions and getting none, I got p155ed off and popped the "dinger" thing out of the back of the dash because I got tired of hearing it. There is no flasher unit. It is controlled by the PCM and the relay under the hood. Is there a "flash" for the '03?

The 03 should have a feature, that the dealer acesses with the old scan tool, where you combine the function of the brake lights and the blinkers, activating it disables the lamp out indicator, doesn't do anything for the fast blink you get with the leds though. I did my 04 that way when I converted it to a flatbed.
