Does anyone know of a 9005 and 9012 LED headlight bulb that will fit in a 2013 Ram 3500 with projector headlights? This is the headlight assembly with the amber LED turn signals at the bottom. It has a rectangular (5 sided) plate that has 6 screws that tighten it to the back of the headlight assemble. I need LEDs that are the same size as the halogen bulbs to fit in the tight space. I have tried numerous brands but the bigger ones do not fit in the housing. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

following , HIDs would be good also
I only want LEDs for the brighter light and less power draw. I put LEDs in my wife's car and the change in brightness is outstanding. Call me spoiled, but LEDs are the way to go.

Had HID's in my F450 and jeep, hated them and took them out. You could not count on them, sometimes one would work and the other would not, turn them on and off a couple of time and they both may work... not to mention the headlight housings themselves were not designed for HID or LED for that matter so the light scatters and blinds oncoming drivers. I did replace the Jeep lights with LED but housing and all, not just the bulbs and adjusted them correctly. So far so good.

My wifes 2019 has factory LEDs that work the best I've ever seen, but I've to yet see an LED bulb worth 2 cents. Like already mentioned, poor light dispersion and high beams don't work well. Have them on my 14 Wrangler and taking them out... putting Sylvania bright white in.

So, not sure you'll find anyone happy with LED bulbs for non LED designed housings. To me, bright white halogen is best way to go.

Cheers, Ron

OP,

Check YouTube and I think you'll find you have to modify some stuff to fit. These bulbs have cooling fans that are both longer and bigger around. It would be good if someone who actually has them on thier truck reported performance and satisfaction. Yes they do look cool, but...

Cheers, Ron

On a Jeep cherokee I have, I just changed all the lights, Low, high and fog to Vision XH Halogen bulbs, big difference! now that I have tried them I think I will order a set for my Ram. On my Jeep Wrangler I bought a pair of LED headlights off of Amazon to try (They are a china copy a JW speaker 8700) so far so good, and not $800!

The search is over. I finally found some great LED headlight bulbs that actually fit the 2013 Ram 3500. They are from Alla Lighting. You can order them from Amazon. Here are the part numbers.
B07T9WYS3H Low Beam 9012 Bulb
B07TH8GNDS High Beam 9005 Bulb
B06XHFBLDD Canbus Anti-Flicker Cable (You need 2 sets. Each Bulb needs one.)
The people at Alla Lighting are great and are willing to answer your questions. They are at www.allalighting.com and phone number is 909-606-29345. These bulbs are less expensive than some on the market that don't fit the Ram.

I put the bulbs in yesterday and took the truck out for a drive last night. All the difference between night and day.

Now we can see the road. Happy driving at night now!!!

Check out diode dynamics web site . I bought some HID for my 14 with projector lenses 4 yrs ago and they still work . At that time LED 's were really weak . They sell LED bulbs now for your type of light .

I tried them. Neither the high or low beams would fit. The base was too big for the headlight housing on the 2013 with projector headlights.

I just realized that your 13 and my 18 both have the projector headlights, but they use different bulbs. Mine uses 9005’s for high and low beams.

Fitment that requires modification on Rams AND performance issues with the ones on my 2014 Jeep Wrangler are reasons I purchased Sylvania Silverstar Ultra halogens, just like I had on my 09 Ram 4500. White light seems to light better than yellow light.

I notice the JL Wranglers have projectors for both high and low beams enclosed within the 7" round housing. The beam pattern on my JK is good top and bottom, but not side to side. I can see signs reflecting 1/4 mile down the road, but not well side to side. High beams really don't work. I don't drive it a lot at night so haven't bothered to replace them to either the OEM type ones in the JLs.

I imagine the low beam projectors on my 2017 Ram might do OK with LEDs, but have my doubts about my high beams. I still haven't upgraded to the Silverstars just because you have to remove the housings to do it, since I just installed the continuous duty compressor and front and cargo cameras for my truck.

Anyhoo, I'd like to see the OP post pics at night on level ground with low and high beams.

Thanks, Ron

I installed LED's lights in my 2008 projector head lamps about a 1-1/2 years ago also for my fog lights. I would do a search for LED lights in third gen trucks to look for information on the make and where to purchase them from.

I would have provided that information here but my hard drive crashed on my CPU and I am working from an I-Pad. I have all of this information stored on an external hard drive but can't access this till the new CPU arrives.

Following. Didn't morimoto come out with a plug n' play LED setup for our trucks with projectors? I saw it a few months ago but was so interested in their whole headlight assembly I didn't pay mind to just the LED bulbs.

I've come to the conclusion the whole assemblies are too much money ($1500) and just want LED bulbs.

Morimoto has beautiful LED fog light assemblies I'm definitely gonna go for.

I’ve had Morimoto HIDs in my truck for 4.5 years.
Gone from “Lame” to “Fantastic”

There is absolutely no comparison with LED bulbs to HID. HID is the brightest you can get without going to a complete new Headlight assembly. The LED technology has not come far enough to surpass HID. At this point you still need to have the Canbus relay and resistor pack unless you get AlphaOBD and change your settings on your truck. You can then lose the resistor packs.
