Anyone install a light bar on their 2nd gen yet? The headlights on my 98.5 are pretty crappy, even with the Bright Box installed. I have been experimenting with different ones and I have come up with some interesting results.
The 3watt double row bar at the bottom is, without a doubt the brightest one when you are looking at it, but it gives the poorest light while driving.
The 5watt single row bar in the middle sends light just like a good low beam pattern should, but not as wide as a flood beam would.
The two 10 watt spot beams on top send light quite far down the road and are very, very bright! The whole thing looks like something out of Mad Max, The Road Warrior, but works very well.

For what it's worth, I only turn them on when there is NO traffic coming the other way or when off road.

Pictures to follow, when I can get them to post.

Ken, looks like Monmouth county.:D I'm in Ocean.

I've been following this train of thought too.
Google "12v led cob". The cob type of LED seems REALLY bright.

I think Rigid Industries has a LED light bar assembly that comes with wiring harness and relay. I have bought their D2 lights. i recommend you pair it up with a good LED light bar to get a good light distance and width.

I use an ebay 32 in. led light bar on my buggie, my boy has the Rigid brand we see no difference with light out put, lifespan may vary. but mine was 1/7 the price of his. I was just pricing out a 20" light bar for my 2nd gen. the lights are useless and I have the relay kit for the new lights but like the leds and there low amp draw. I plan to fab a small roll bar off the front hitch to attach them to.
