Rear End Question?

Hi all, I just pulled off the tail lights on my 2014 ram cab and chassis because they were way under the flat bed that was installed and hard to see. I changed all lights on the bed to 6" oval led but now the truck thinks the lamps are out on the both signals. Does the truck need to be programmed for the new led lights or will it learn on it's own? Everything is working fine so I assume the load is not the same now and it is freaking it out. Thanks for any input.

Yup, sounds like it isn't detecting enough load on the line and thus giving you a bulb out warning. Adding a load resistor should help you.

Thanks for the input, I have had to install them before but for what ever reason I was having a brain dead moment. Thanks again for the reply.

The wiring can be easily modified without adding any load to the sytem(wich defeats the purpose of leds) on the C/c trucks go to the Ram bodybuilders website to see how

That Option "A" for changing to all LED lights on the rear where you reach into the fenderwell and ground that wire is pretty cool!! And if you screw up they tell you how to straighten it out. Can't beat that!!!

I've done a ton of tow trucks and ambulances also removed many failed load resistors. The funniest part is the majority of upfitters ignore the instructions
