I used led clearance lights when we built our flatbed for our 04... and the sealed lens with the rubber mounts for the tail, stop and turn... . with no problems. .

I have an Alum-Line service body on my pickup, and about 90% of the time when I go into reverse with my lights on, I'll get a quick lamp out message, it only lasts for a moment and I get an audible "ding" in the cab. My bed has seperate stop and turn lights. There's quite a few lights on my bed because the headache rack also has stop, turn and reverse lights.

What does the EMC recognize when it sends a lamp out signal to the insturment panel? Is it a quick drop in voltage created by additional lights?

It doesn't bother me at all, and like I said, the message lasts for less than a second. My lights are not LED's.

I've heard that if you have ALL turn signal lights on the truck and bed are LED, you need to wire in a resistor so that the flashers will work. Other than that, I haven't heard of any problems with LEDS and the idiot light.
