A while back I installed LED lights on the service body of my pickup, the lights worked great, but I had the "lamp out" indicator trip on the dash. I didn't really want the indicator on, so I put a couple of halogen lights back on for turn signals/brakes. Looks kinda of silly having 3 halogen and 7 LED lights installed. Anyone know a way I could run all my lights as LED without having the lamp out indicator on?

I wonder what the resistance of the bulbs are compared to the LEDs?

I purchased LED lamps to replace all the incandescent bulbs on my CM aftermarket bed about 2 1/2 years ago when I bought my cab and chassis Ram.

I've forgotten the details now but in order to use LED replacement bulbs you have to add a resistor in series with each LED lamp to simulate the resistance of an incandescent bulb in order to satisfy the ECM/PCM of a late model Dodge Ram.

I posted a question back then and a helpful TDR member who had already "been there done that" provided the info I needed.

Here is the company I bought the resistors from: SIRENNET. COM - Sirennet Brand Products You'll have to call the company and ask or perhaps carefully search their website. The resistors are specific for that purpose and come encapsulated in rubber or plastic with pigtails extending from each end. They weren't real expensive, perhaps $3/resistor. They are easy to install and work great.

I took a quick look at the Sirennet website and didn't see the product so search and call the company if you can't find the product yourself.

Thanks Harvey, I'll look into that company. Just thinking out loud, I should only need 3 resistors; left turn, right turn, and one running lamp. Those are the three hallogen lights I'm running now, and I'm not having any lamp out indicator messages now.

just measure the lamps and get some 15 watt resistors to make the combined resistance equal them.
