LED Reverse Lights

I have just installed a Ranch Hand rear bumper. The bumper came with two flush mount LED reverse lights. I have read several times about the TIPM unit that controls the lighting in these trucks, and apparently it is sensitive voltage and current disturbances. Assuming this is true, can I simply run these LED lights off of the 7 pin trailer plug, or is this connected to the TIPM as well? If not, what would be the best way otherwise? Thanks!

Yes, I did same thing, trailer circuit not part of tipm

Just make sure the lights aren't too offensive if you set them up to turn on automatically. I got a fix it ticket for that. I had to wire them to a switch for manual use.

The 17 does not have a tipm

Sorry about the name may not be tipm perhaps bcm or cbc but regardless of name there is a module that is monitoring the lights and the electricity they are using or not using as the case may be at least according to ramtrucks.com
