Calibrating the Mileage Computer?

I would like to add a left foot dead pedal to my 2006 Ram 2500 because on long highway trips it is uncomfortable to have my foot flat on the floor. Does anyone have a source for a pedal/platform that I could install? Has anyone fabricated something and be willing to supply a picture or two?

Thanks!

Here's what I came up with - simple, cheap...

I had a piece of 1/4" x 3/4" stock laying around and in about 10 minutes had this installed. It works well and might cost $2. 50 total. 2 x M6x20 hex head screws with nylock nuts hold it to the parking brake bracket. It ends about 1/2" above the mat and is rigid enough that it doesn't deflect downward to wear a hole in things.

It does not interfere with the parking brake pedal travel.

I drove 710 miles the next day with fuel stops only. My left leg and ankle were fine. My butt was sore...

Left foot pedal

Go to a shop that installs handicap hand controls on vehicles. They will have a left foot pedal that installs very easily and works great. Does not interfer with the right foot and flips out of the way. Be careful of making such devices. If they fail and you are the cause of an accident, because of the device that you made, you will be liable and your insurance may not want to cover you.

Actually what I do is put my foot out in front of me on the floor under the brake pedal.

Plenty of room between the pedal and floor and easy to get of the way if I need to in a hurry. Very comfortable.

my 0. 02.
