I hate to ask a dumb question but my 2001 2500 diesel got in a left front fender bender and I was wondering if there was suppose to be a horn in there ???. I found a empty plug and I'm not sure if there was one or two horns?

Not sure about the 2500's but on my '01 1500 the horns are on the passengers side. I know on my '14 3500 the horns are on the drivers side. Sometimes wire harnesses are set up for multiple trims and models. Only way that you could confirm is to put multi-meter on connection and press horn and look for voltage. If it gives you voltage, look for clean area were something was attached. Pretty sure that if a horn was there, it would have been found on the ground from impact. It would have to have ripped wire connector off and sheared or pulled the mounts! Little more detective work needed to be for sure. Sorry to hear about the OPPS that happened!

There may be empty/unused plug(s) for Fog Lights (assuming you don't have them) some of the harnesses had FL provisions in later years ('01-'02)

Thank you for the response,I didn't think of the multi-meter trick. I will try that.the truck took a direct punch in the head light area and there is a plug right under the head light . Thought about the multi - truck harness but I was looking on line for parts and they had a high low horn set ??? But a body shop took it apart and put it back together, everything works so it's probably a extra plug .just being overly paranoid I think
