Left heated mirror doesn't heat

I just noticed recently that my driver side mirror is not heating and the passenger side is.
Is the mirror heating grid failure a normal thing?
I would think that it would not be a relay if my right side is working.
Any any input is appreciated. Thanks

One area of suspect would be the wiring into the driver side door. The wiring loom that enters into the door flexes (by design) with door operation and over time can break the strands in an individual wire.
