Truck is a 95 club cab and I want to install grab handles on the left side "A" pillar, and also one on the top like what is on the right side above the door. Should i try to find the self locking nut like what is used on the right handle ? or just use metal screws for attachment. I already have the handles.
What am I going to run into when drilling pilot holes? and how deep?
Reason for this, a few years ago my wife fell out of the truck when exiting the rear seat and grabbed for the steering wheel and missed it. She went all the way to the ground and hit her head. she is OK now but it was alarming to say the least at the time, as we were in the Canadian side of Glacier Natl park.
So, what advice can be given Thanks for your help and advice.

On my 01,obviously not a 95 so may be different. It did not come with a drivers handle above the door or on the A pillar. I had gauges on the a pillar so I did not put a handle there. In any case iirc the over the door handle has everything you need except the handle and the screws. Little mounting tabs already drilled etc you just have to drill through the headliner, in the right spot of course. Iirc I just pulled the liner down enough to see up in there and get an idea of where the mounts were then took a quick and dirty measurements and hoped for the best and it worked out well.
