This thread is kind of a take off from Allnew2Me's thread about reverse lights as seen Here I've been thinking about doing something a little different for quite a while. I have a sport model and the NorthEast salt is taking it's toll so it needs to be painted anyways. When the other thread was posted I started gathering parts, some 5 inch pipe, some new lights, a 5 1/2 inch hole saw from E-bay for $5. Here are some pictures of my initial progress, I started at 8:45 this morning and have now taken a break to post these pictures at 10:45, not too bad for 2 hours work.

The lights are Hella optilux 2500's I think, I got them through the local Advanced Auto Parts, they call them Angel Eyes because there is a LED outside ring to them. They are 55 watt H3 bulbs.

As far as the exhaust through there, that's what I was thinking when I set the bumper in place. It would be pretty sweet running dual five inchers though the bumper

Thanks for the compliments guys! They aren't wired up yet, I'm getting the bumper sand blasted to get the Northeast rust off of it, then I'll paint it and install it and get the lights wired up, hopefully this weekend.

Tim, now that is what I call a serious light mount! You did a great job on the fitting and welding of those cups, I think they might be stronger than the whole bumper. Before you mount the lights you may want to turn them on and see how they throw. I know mine were more focused than I wanted before I changed out the bulbs. If you place them too far back in the cups they may not give a very wide pattern, but that might be what you are looking for. I can't wait to see it all painted and done. Thanks for mentioning my original post and using it to create your own version.

Ok, I've got the bumper mounted and installed the lights but they aren't wired up yet. Here are a few pictures of the almost finished product.

Looks great!! Are you planning on wiring them up with your other reverse lights, or do you plan on putting them on a separate toggle?

Thanks a LOT Tim.

Now I have a project for the rusted bumper off my 96.

Seriously, your bumper project came out great! I really like the way the light mounts look like exhaust pipes. Or jet nozzles??? HA!

I've been needing more backup light pressuse behind my dually and this is very doable.
