Pay Backs at their expense

READ ALL OF THESE, YOU WILL BE VERY GLAD YOU DID!!!

1)When you get "ads" enclosed with your phone or utility bill, return

these "ads" with your payment. Let the sending companies throw

their own junk mail away.

When you get those "pre-approved" letters in the mail for everything

from credit cards to 2nd mortgages and similar type junk, do not throw

away the return envelope.

Most of these come with postage-paid return envelopes, right?

It costs them more than the regular 37cents postage "IF" and

when they receive them back.

It costs them nothing if you throw them away! The postage was

around 50 cents before the last increase and it is according to

the weight. In that case, why not get rid of some of your other

junk mail and put it in these cool little, postage-paid return

envelopes. One of Andy Rooney's (60 minutes) ideas.

Send an ad for your local chimney cleaner to American Express.

Send a pizza coupon to Citibank. If you didn't get anything

else that day, then just send them their blank application back!

If you want to remain anonymous, just make sure your name

isn't on anything you send them.

You can even send the envelope back empty if you want to

just to keep them guessing!

Eventually, the banks and credit card companies will begin

getting their own junk back in the mail.

Let's let them know what it's like to get lots of junk mail, and

best of all they're paying for it... Twice!

Let's help keep our postal service busy since they are saying that

e-mail is cutting into their business profits, and that's why they

need to increase postage costs again. You get the idea !

If enough people follow these tips, it will work----

I have been doing this for years, and I get very little

junk mail anymore.

Drop 10 pennies in the envelope and it will raise their postage to $2, you will be surprised how fast you will get removed from their mailing lists ( include your original envelope, the one with your address so they know who returned it. )

(2) Do you ever get those annoying phone calls with no one

on the other end?

This is a telemarketing technique where a machine makes phone calls

and records the time of day when a person answers the phone.

This technique is used to determine the best time of day for

a "real" sales person to call back and get someone at home.

What you can do after answering, if you notice there is no one there,

is to immediately start hitting your # button on the phone, 6 or 7

times, as quickly as possible. This confuses the machine that dialed the

call and it kicks your number out of their system.

Since doing this, my phone calls have decreased dramatically.

Three Little Words That Work !!

3) Another Good Idea: The three little words are: "Hold On, Please... "

Saying this, while putting down your phone and walking off

(instead of hanging-up immediately) would make each

telemarketing call so much more time-consuming that boiler room

sales would grind to a halt.

Then when you eventually hear the phone company's "beep-beep-beep"

tone, you know it's time to go back and hang up your handset, which has

efficiently completed its task.

These three little words will help eliminate telephone soliciting.

I've been doing #3 for years... it's really fun to see how long they'll hold for. I had done this to one guy and forgot about it while working on something in the garage. I came back an hour or so later and saw the phone sitting on the kitchen counter. As I picked it up, I could hear the guy whistling to himself. I just put it back down and went to bed for the night. :)

I take and fold up those annoying walmart ads and coupons and stuff them in the envelope. If there is no ad I will go outside the Post office and pick up some trash and stuff it in the envelope then send it back. Just to do my part to keep Alaska clean.

The phone soliciters call I will answer "I am so glad you called and then go into some sob story as to how my dog died, my cat ate my bird, my ol lady left me, and my truck stopped running I make it sound as depressing as I can and waste as much of their time as possible. But I only do this if I have nothing better to do. I had one guy want me to call a suicide hotline cause I made it sound so bad once.

I used to put solicitors on hold after asking them to wait while I went to another phone. Most hung up after about a minute.

We don't have a home phone anymore, so no problem now. We use cell phones and cable internet.

I love the idea of sending the postage paid envelopes back to them. Never thought of that. The USPS need the business.

How come some of the greatest ideas are so simple?

Until now, I just stuffed junk mail back into the letter slot. I'm sending stuff back in the return envelopes starting tonight. :D

I have his first CD.

To really get some attention tape one of those "Return postage guaranteed" envelopes to a brick! You may even get a personal appology.

ROTHFLMAO,

You guys have made me laugh, I needed it after a bad day at work.

1. Put them on hold

2. send junk mail back

3. postage guarenteed with brick!!!! hehehehehe

:D :D :D

I give the post-paid envelopes to my grand kids. They stuff them with old drawings, scrap paper, etc and then drop them in the mail box while I am sending out my paid bills.

Great idea, love it. Filling that envelope might be new way to dispose of used kitty litter

Do you know Garry at B. B. M. in Lampasas?

I used to get Publishers Clearinghouse envelopes all the time. What I did was order three or four magazines and enter their contest. Then, when the bill came, I would wait another month, write cancel on it, and send it back. After three or four rounds of that, they haven't sent me squat for about three years now. :D :D

A friend of mine ordered a bunch of magizines from Publishers clearing house when he got the bill he sent it back to them with "Take it out of my 10 million " written on it. I do not think he has gotten another letter from them.

You have to be carefull what you send back, you can reach a point where its toxic and they can get the postoffice inspectors involved.

I used to send back all the crap in their envelopes until I recieved a credit card that I did NOT ask for. It layed around and then they tried sending me a bill for the annual card holders. They recieved a phone call and appologised. Now I throw it out

Being as you never applied for it, and never signed any kind of Agreement, do you have to pay for it if someone used it?

I always shred anything that looks close to an application, that way if it is picked out of the trash someone can't try to setup a card in my name. The rest of the junk I think will start to go back to the sender though!
