Let's face it guys... we have the GREATEST engine known to mankind. It is in a Dodge truck, which is pretty darn good. With a little twisting it can make HUGE AMOUNTS of hp & torque. With a DTT massage the truck will start running like a Striped-&$$ed-Ape. In short gentlemen... we have the FINEST example of automotive engineering of the 20th OR 21st. Century.

Need I add... we have 7 main bearings?

Amen!

I have been reading over at the Duramax site and have to say there are some good guys over there, and there are plenty of D/As that are running great. But the fact still remains for me that the Dodge is my favorite body style and the cummins is awesome... . I am getting around 350 HP (I think) and have spent less than $500 getting there. but the coolest thing is that our engines are "old" if you will. I am not sure of when these little 5. 9s first came out, but for sure by 1989 and with a bit of tinkering can equal or better:D computer designed engines and fuel systems... . isnt it just the coolest thing!!!!! :D :) :) :D , Jim

Rubberneckin'

I find that whenever I give my truck a good bath, I cannot walk away from it whenever I park without taking a few glances back. If anyone saw me they'd be conviced I was obsessed :D

I think the B-series Cummins dates to the mid 80s. So that dates it right there with the clunky 6. 2L GM diesel and tempermental 6. 9L Navistars. It is interesting how the 6. 5TD is now history with the current PSD soon to follow, all Cummins has to do is come up with a new head or injection design to keep pace with the venerable B-series. And it looks like it is going to be around for awhile still. Very cool.
