OK guys, I have gotten pulled over 3 times now for modified exhaust. The third time I got a ticket. Heres how the statue reads in the state of colorado:

Section 4-225:
No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the motor.

That is word for word under the model traffic code for colorado. I live in the town of Fort Lupton and for some reason I must be getting singled out on this deal.

I have to some how get an exhaust which will quiet down my truck to stock decibel level but still have high flow if possible. Since I cant have my loud *** exhaust, is there anyway I could make my truck louder from the engine compartment? Increase turbo noise??

I have been seriously thinking about a cut-out, but those are illegal also.

I just need some creative ideas on this situation.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate it.

Go with MBRP muffler. They flow great my EGT's went down 75 degrees acrosss the board after getting it in. Nice rumble when you get into it but quiet as stock running down the road.

the largest problem with your exaust flow is your turbo. from what i'm hearing the performance diffrence between a 4" exaust and a 5 is minimal. put a muffler on that thing and upgrade your turbo. you will go faster and only get speeding tickets

Those law as complete utter Bull Poop!

You can get a factory exhaust that is loud and annoying on SRT-4. The new z06 opens up the exhuast when you get on the throttle and bypasses the muffler.

Anything "performance" from the factory is louder then the "non-performance" counter part.

Why can't you do that on your own?

where I grew up, having too loud of an exhaust is a ticketable offense, but not if you keep it quite and in reason. Same with Stereo's, you have have 150db's worth of sound, but you won't get in trouble if it's played at talking volume :)

That's one of the biggest reasons I moved out of MA. I drove my '94 around for over a year out here with nothing but the downpipe and the law never even batted an eye.

WI's motto should be: "Go ahead... knock yourself out. "
