Winter fuel summer fuel #2 #1 or a mix . I’m using a product called Total Power as my winter anti gel. I have in the past used many of the other brands available. So I have learned recently that the low sulfur fuel has a much lower pour point then number 2 something like 20 f for number 2 and zero for low sulfur now all you can get so if I’m understanding correctly I maybe can use less treatment or none at all maybe. But waxing fuel is not a good thing. Once it gels waxes it does come back adding treatment etc. ok I would like to hear what are your thoughts on this all thanks

I got burned twice a few years ago. The first time was with my 2011 Ram/Cummins. We had a cold snap in November where the temps got down into the single digits here in western New York. The truck sat outside overnight, and because it was November, the station I fill up at must not have had the winterized fuel yet. Luckily, I could start the truck, and it would run for 15 seconds or so before it stalled. After I let it sit for a half hour or so, it would start and run for 15 seconds again. Little by little I got it into my garage and turned on the heat. After a couple hours it would run fine. I went right down to the station & added a couple gallons of kerosene to the tank. It was OK after that.

A couple years later, I think it was with my 2015 Ram/Cummins, we had another early cold snap. I was out of town, and it wouldn't start at all when I got home. I let it sit outside until the temp got up to the high teens or so a couple days later, then it started and ran fine.

Now I'm more diligent about early cold snaps and adding Power Service antigel.

Lucky you didn't kill your injection system, kerosene(#1) is a deadly for the CDI as gasoline.

It says on some pumps it is but really you would trust that I have a bridge to sell you somewhere I think ha. Do you rEally know what your geyptying at the pump.

Power Service goes into transfer tank starting at the end of October. Never know what Mother Nature will throw at you or where you may get called to travel! Saw this morning that upper PA into NY has a freeze/frost advisories issued already! Might be one of those winters for the Mid Atlantic/NE region! Plow goes on other truck end of October also! Anti Gel is great insurance and worth the extra expense! We all knew that there was an extra expense to drive these trucks.

Yes to many diesel fuel etc is a great inknown .My neighbor of 25 years very nice fellow but Said when I almost run out of fuel in Fort Nelson and the pump wouldn’t work (card lock) why didn’t I just take some gas from the Honda generator in the front basket and dump in really means he knows nothing about diesel fuel. I wouldn’t loan him my truck. He might trying to be nice do a refill with gas . Disaster
