My 01 has the power heated mirrors but when yanking a trailer they just dont seem to cut it. What is everyones opinion on aftermarket or even the newer OEM adjustable heated towing mirrors. CIPA, OEM are there others to consider pros and cons of them would be great.

I have Bestop (CIPA) towing mirrors. Haven't had the shaking problem as some here have had. Really like them. Kinda wished I had gotten the heated ones for my '97. Would've had to do some wiring since they are made for the '98+ trucks, but that's easy.



You can do a search on them too. LOTS of reading.

Cipa

I have the Cipa tow mirrors:

Pro's... . they are BIG and I can really see my trailer in them

Con's... They are starting to vibrate a little more than they did when I first put them on

I used the McKesh clamp on's prior to these and they worked great... just a PITA to put on all the time.

There's a flatbed Dodge running around town here with westcoast mirrors on it. I like that look, and when I find time and money I'd like to put them on mine. You can even get them heated, that's one option I'll never be without again, this truck has spoiled me.

I have the factory towing mirrors no my 03. They hinge out for towing, are heated and power. I really like them. My last truck had the standard mirrors and the one on the passenger side was worthless as far as I was concerned. It had so much convex in it I couldn't even see the trailer axles on a corner, it looked like they were 100 feet away. These new mirrors with fold out and spot mirrors built in are great as far as I'm concerned.

I just put the CIPA mirrors on last week. So far I love em. No vibration. Large viewing area. Extendable. The convex mirrors that came with them from Geno's are ok, but I would prefer something different, just haven't had time to go looking.

I forgot to add... ... ... ... ... They have the '03 sails ( where it mounts to the door) mounted to the mirrors.

The Powervision mirrors are nice; I put them on my '01. Install them alone. You will use a few words that others shouldn't hear!

Yeah, as Glen said, installation isn't fun (running the wiring harness from driver's to passenger's door is the challenging part), but the results are worth it. I love my Power Visions!
