Quick battery question on gasser trucks

Makes it ride SO much better!!. The factory ubolts and studs willl work as the 2. 5" springs are "thiner" then the factoy packs. That will save you a couple bucks towards the adjustable dral link or what ever elkse you need. The 2. 5" spings lifted the fornt of mine 2" exactually.

What did ya'll do about the front eye on the skyjacker springs? They are only 1" and the cummins springs use a 1. 25" I think. If your run the 5/8" bolt you can't use the steel sleeve. I ended up making my own bushings and sleeve for the front, but I don't think skyjacker expects this.

My Skyjackers came with the new plastic bushings and the steel sleeves with them. Maybe they shipped yopu the gasser springs???

Good Luck,

Caleb

Did you use the steel sleeves in the front with the 5/8 bolt? I know you can use the bolt without the sleeve, but I didn't like that idea. Mine had the 2 inch cummins number on them, but when I peeled it off there was a 4 inch gas sticker under that. I think that's all they do is use the next size up springs for a gas truck in a diesel. I bought mine from "jackit" online.

I put mine on years ago and can't remember for sure if there is a sleeve, I can't tell by looking but I don't think I would have put it together with out a steel sleeve to tighten against.

I ordered new spring bolts from Jackit.com along with the springs. I think it was a 3/4" bolt. Did not need the steel sleeves the bolts were the same size as the sleves and the same as the bolts that were removed. The rear were reused.

Jack it.com was very good to deal with, got springs, shocks and new mounting bolts .

I don't remember what I did, besides putting them on and being very happy with them. I got rid of the death wobble, with the springs and an alignment.

I don't remember if the sleeve was used or not.

I just purchased the 2. 5" Skyjacker springs myself, is it necessary to replace the shocks or get an adjustable drag link? Or can I just bolt the springs in and go?

Thanks.

I bought the 2 inch dropped pitman arm, so that I can retain my factory drag link. I think they claim no steering correction is needed, but your lifting it 2 inches so it makes since to me to correct the steering by 2 inches. I bought new shocks, but the old ones are probably long enough, they may top out if the suspension drops while driving though.

I just intstalled the sporings on my truck also I replaced the shocks, but did not do the drag link. The stering wheel, when driving straight is slightly to the left. Have not had it aligned yet but you can just re index the pitman arm.

Where did you buy that? Is it a Skyjacker piece? Thanks.

Yes its made by skyjacker, part number DA20. I bought mine from jackit.com or you can buy it from summit racing.

Well, i'm finally planning on installing my springs this week... I just called Skyjacker to verify the drag link part number and they stated they do not recommend replacing the drag link with the 2. 5" lift?! I noticed that the DA20 part number is listed for a 4" lift.

Anyone else running the 2. 5" lift and did not swap the drag link? I don't want any issues... . my turning radius to the right is bad enough.
