OK, I did this with my 96, so I know it can be done, but because this is a 3500, I wanted to see if anyone else has done it. On my 96 I had custom front coils mad to do the job, but it cost me nearly $500 to hav e it done. Jack-it makes a kit consisting of urathane spacers to lift the front end 1. 5 inches. I would actually like about 2, but..... I'll take what I can get. I was cautioned that spacers will wear and eventually cause problems.

Any thoughts or experinces would be appreciated.

I just did mine, I went the cheap route... getting spacers. . got 'em from 4-wheelparts.com or something like that. I went with the 1. 5 inch, wish I had done the 2 inch. I called 'em (local 310-631-4979) and had 'em shipped to me. The guy said they had 1, 1. 5, or 2 inch spacers. It looks a lot better, but I think the 2 inch would have leveled it perfect. With shipping, tax, title, etc $95. 74.

So far no squeaks or rattles, steers straight, hope this helps... . :D

Tom-

Thanks for the input. Price sounds about right on par for what I've been quoted for the spacers. What brand are they? Did you have to have the control arms changed (was told it could be a possibility) and did you have the work done or do it yourself?

I got a price for 1. 5" of lift by going the coil route:eek:

something to the tune of about $600 :{ :{ . Course that also included installation, alignment and shocks. I would love to do it but that really cuts a big hold in the budget.

What brand?? I don't know... . what ever 4wheel sells. I had a friend do the install. nothing else changed:D .

If I had the funds to do it I would love to change the springs with newer taller ones, but for now this works well.....

When I ordered the spacers they said I would need to change shocks... yada yada... but I trusted the installer as he has done many Dodges.....

I went the air-bag route for $70 (firestone). I was able to raise the front 1" and that included the extra weight of the front bumper. The handling was much improved as there is very little nose dive under hard braking.
