Would adding a leveling Kit to the truck allow a tire larger than LT 295 75 R16 to be installed on stock rims?

I was looking to add BFG All Terrains in this size but may want to go larger if the leveling kit would do the trick. I don't want to go with a lift because that would force me to buy wider rims and larger tires. Do not want to spend that much.

There are quite a few guys here that are running 315's (35" tires) on stock 8" alloy wheels, on a truck with a 2" leveling kit only.

The 315's will rub with no lift. Stefan Kondolay just put 315's on his truck with no lift. They must have rubbed way too much, I think I remember him posting about ordering a lift shortly thereafter.

So by just raising the truck two inches I can run the 35" tires? Does rim width become a problem with the 35" tires on the stock 8" rims?

Does anyone have any photos of the truck running 295 or larger tires on the stock rims?

I like the fact that the leveling kits are only a few hundred dollars versus a few thousand for a lift kit.

There's some pics of 315's on my truck in the reader's rigs section-click on the link at the bottom of my post to have a look. They're fairly long distance shots-but they'll give you the general idea. I have no levelling kit yet-but I will soon. The 315's rub the control arms on tight turns but otherwise I don't get any rub out of them anywhere.

I know that Expat also is running factory alloy 16x8 wheels with 36-12. 50-16 Super Swamper radials . He PROMISED to send some pics when he gets his other computer back online...

I have 16x8 rims with 315's and a leveling kit and they don't rub. The tire doesn't sit as flat on the ground as I would like. They really need a 10" rim but its to late to go back. My other truck had 35/12. 50x16. 5 with a 9. 75x16. 5 rim and they sat flat. Hope the info helps.
