I have the Hellwigs on my '96 3500 and they work great. The Hellwigs and Firestones and Airlift ones are all pretty much the same. I have the Firestone air compressor and in-cab control system too.
Total cost is around $600-700 if I remember right, give or take some. I got mine from Rickson Truck. The springs alone are $200 or less.
You might want to try www.skyjacker.com I am thinking about the same thing.
