I would like to level my truck. I would like to try and get some feedback on lowering the rear end instead of raising the front. I have heard some talk about moving the spring stack on the rear around to lower the back end.

Is this a smart way to go? Does anyone have the steps involved with attempting something like this? Any special tools or skills needed?

Thanks, Jeff

If you do a search on the rear springs and lowering the rear end you'll find several that have done just what you said. i. e. remove the spacer blocks. I beleive that this will drop the rear end about 1 1/2 inches. They have pictures and tools listed also. good luck with your project. and

Keep grinnin,

Walt

I had tried to search on these types of topics and could not find anything and was why I posted? Are there settings within the searches to help find items?

I searched on lowering rear end... No hits at all

rear springs found several items but I could not find anything referencing the items I am trying to find.

It must be something on my setup that is limiting the search results as I would think it should be finding better results than what I am finding.

Thanks, Jeff

I lowered the rear on mine. easy, just put the spacers on top of the springs instead of the bottom it lowered about 1 3/4". all I had to buy was new center spring bolts. It looks great and rides like stock. On the plus side when you lower the rear there is far less of a chance of death wobble due to the increase in castor. I should have a new pic of the truck in my gallery, It's the one after it has been debaged

Thanks for the replies. . I read thru the Klenger site and it had a link to a TDR topic about this very procedure. The truck they are showing is the exact year of my truck so I am very confident it will work without any problem. There was a valid concern mentioned about the caliper removal bolt being behind the spring which could make changing the pads a concern. Glad I just this weekend changed my pads. Maybe next weekend I can go about loweing the rear.

Thanks Again... . Jeff

Klenger site had a link to a TDR forum. .

https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=101508

Its topic was "Spacers removal for lowering rear end" ??

Can someone explain why I can do a search for "lowering rear end" and not find this? Something must be wrong somewhere to not allow the search to find this?
