I see lots of levelling kits out there for the 3rd Gens for less than $200. . Most even claim that you can utilize the stock shock. . What is the right way to go?

Highest you can go without a new shock is 2". I haven't done it yet and probably won't until I get some air shocks in the back to keep my truck from squating too bad while I'm towing. I did have a buddy that put the 2" leveler on his cummins with the stock shock and it worked fine. Looked a whole lot better too.

I just put on Skyjacker D25's, Bilstein shocks and 35" Toyo M/T's. I think it looks great. The D25 springs are not much more then the spacers.

I don't have any real good pictures right now, but here is what I got.

I used 2 inch spacers I got off eBay for $90. Be careful of the quality, a lot rides on the spacers. Mine were fully welded and looked perfect. It took all of 2 hours to install and I'm no mechanic. It is important to have some stout and long frame stands as well as a good rolling floor jack. Easy Peasey. If I could do it, anyone can.

Here's a photo. Notice the continuous, clean bead of weld all the way around. Look for quality. That means 1/4" Hot PO Plate that is CNC cut, Heavy wall DOM pipe, Grade 8 bolts, robotic welding, powder coating, OEM flange lock nuts.

It's hard to believe they can make these and get them to my door for only $90. The truck looks much nicer, but you will need to adjust your headlights and do a front end alignment. Don't put off the alignment. I did. It drove just fine but the front tires started to feather within 2000 miles.

What company made those? Also i have been trying to find a leveling kit for use with my buckstop bumper. The bumper dropped my front about 1. 5 to 2 inches. the leveling kit will only get me back to stock height. Leveling springs plus spacers? what to do...

I put a 2" leveling kit from Top Gun Customz (www.topguncustomz.com) on my truck. I believe they fab them up themselves. I believe it was $85 with shipping. It is fairly easy to install. I don't have a picture, but they look very, very similar to the ones in Skipro's picture.

I still have the stock shocks, and they works, but the ride is definately a little rougher. I ordered Bilsteins today from Lorenz. Since I haven't done the alignment yet (I know, I know... need to get it done) I went ahead and ordered drop brackets for the sway bar as well to get it back where it was before doing the alignment.

The truck looks much, much better with it...

I put on the KORE HD Leveling Kit. mine came with the HD Springs, 5100 Bilstein Shocks, and blocks for the front stabalizer bar. I am also running Bilstein 5100's in the rear and Firestone Ride Rites. The reason I decided to go to the more expensive kit was because it comes with all the stuff to do the job right. The kit generally articulates the same as the front end of the Powerwagon. There are others that make kits - Lorentz makes a nice kit too. Too many guys seem to get into the Death Wobble that use only the spacers without changing shocks and springs and dropping the front stabalizer bar. I am very satisfied with the KORE Kit. It took me about 4 hours to put it on.

Daystar 2" leveling spacers

Here are some pictures of the Daystar 2" leveling spacers that I had on my truck for two and a half years. Had BFG 315s and Rancho 9000Xs at the same time. These spacers have over 53,000 miles on them with the 315s. I was a little worried after I saw posts about the non metal spacers not holding up after I put them on. Well they look almost the same as when they were new. Only thing that you can tell they were ever installed is the slight indention of the end of the spring coil. They worked fine and did not ever make any noises.

I did the Kore too. Bigger custom springs is the way to go in my opinion. Spacers are a poor mans lift. Please nobody take that personal but real lifts are properly done with springs. I had previously installes RevTek spacers. Had to get rid of them because they kept breaking the mounting studs.

Well I agree that spacer kits are not the best way to go. But as I have proved to myself, the spacers I used were good for my purpose and performed well. All of my previous 4x4 trucks have had high dollars full lift kits and they were used off road. This truck is not an off road vehicle and I only wanted to be able to add the 315s and be safe with no rubbing. Even then I did shocks, steering stablizer shock and full alignment with the spacers. When I get tired of being at stock level I will go to a 4. 5" or 6" full lift and an off road setup. That will be when I get tired of racing or hit the lottery, which every comes first.
