Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Lever passes below fuel plate

Following guidelines found in many places on this site, I pulled the AFC to see where the lever was hitting on the fuel plate. I saw that it passes below the plate with the shut off solenoid pulled up and throttle pulled open. Most of what I've read indicates the lever should strike at the point of the plate, or at least above the bottom. Am I right?

yes that is right... you need to adjust it some
