Hmm, I wounder who made the engine ?Is it made by mercedes benz or some one else?

I think I read somewhere, probably here on the TDR site, the engine is sourced in Italy. If correct, that doesn't inspire a lot of enthusiasm in me.

Its a DC subsidiary in Italy that makes that engine.

VM Motori is the name I think. The Mrs is wanting a Liberty when the lease is up on our current vehicle. A full diesel fleet would be cool.
