Thanks, TDR Staff

Just checked out 03 Cummins

Lookie what DD is getting rid of....

Did ya'll hear the guy a couple of weeks ago ask about BOMBing his CTD?

The guest (don't know his name, but Liddy bows down before him like he knows all things automotive--Gordon showing HIS ignorance again) replies to the guy that Gayle Banks knows everything about diesels and that's the place to go. While I'm screaming (much to the dismay of my passenger) TEE DEE ARR! GEEZ get on the WEB dude!

Anyway seems that folks know that the Cummins has more potential, but don't know where to go.

Anyway I like Liddy when he's talking about something he really knows, but he answers way too many questions like he does know--and doesn't.

Looks like this should have started in the "other" section. Whoops.

Yeah, he got the GM diesel truck and put one of those sooper dooper filtration systems on it. Nothing against the filter, but the more GGL harps on how ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR something is (like the calender:rolleyes: ) the more I suspect a blemish/fault/error. But if I were trying to sell something, I'd try to get him to buy it first. I'm sure a lot of folks think he really knows cars.

And whats this crap about "POUND FEET"? It's people like Liddy and his automotive GURU guest that have perverted the term and Liddy thinks he's so gramatically correct. The term is "FOOT POUND" in reference to force applied twelve inches from an axis. Two of them would be a couple of "FOOT POUNDS" like we've been saying for YEARS. "Pound feet" sounds like you dropped something. It's just like saying my boat is a 40 FEETER! Next they'll be saying HORSES POWERS.

Okay I'm done. Move the thread to "rants and such".

Actually, it IS pound-feet (sometimes referred to as lbf-ft, or pounds force-feet) - look at the metric Newton-meter, and just change the units of measure but keep them in their proper places. You're exerting a force of x pounds y feet from an axis, thus pound-feet (lb-in, N-m, Kg-cm, etc. )

WadePatton! I sympathize with you bro. Even though pound-ft may be just as correct as ft-pound (and it is - 4x6 is just the same as 6x4) it's just the freakin industry standard. I like to listen to GGL every once and awhile too, but it's the fact that people just do stuff to STAND OUT. Just get with the industry standard, ya know?

It's kinda like pronouncing harassment "harris - mint" and advertisement "ad vertissse mint"

So maybe they are "more correct" who gives a crap! I'm not impressed with your ability to pronounce words differently than the rest of the common folk.

As you can see, sometimes I like to b**ch, but some things just turn my crank the WRONG WAY.

nh2112 - I agree with you - this little thing just hit a nerve - not an attack you at all! :D :D :D
