I received an email regarding the lbs of lift air bags have... here is how its figured... .

When you consider using air bags there is a formula for lift you might consider...

radius of the air bag, squared times pie gives you the square inches of surface area... . times the air pressure and than times 2 bags should give you the total lift ability of the kit... .

5" bag running lets say 120 psi, would give you about 4,700 lbs of lift... .

2. 5*2. 5=6. 25 * 3. 1416 = 19. 635 sq inches, x 120 lbs = 2350 each *2 = 4700 lbs

If these were a light design kit with 3" air bags... it would be... .

1. 5*1. 5*3. 1416*120*2=1696 lbs of lift... . a huge difference... .

Very interesting. Just did the calculation for my Air Lift bags at around 5 1/2 inches. I normaly run around 50psi witch means they are only carrying 2375lbs of the 4000lbs of camper for a level load.
