ok i got a new lift in the shop it's a bend-pak 10,000lbs lift it's a 2 post symetrical, the problem is when lifting a truck the vehicle is 1-2 inches off to one side, like its heavy on one side vs the other, so i took it down and measured everything and leveled from one leg to the other--side to side and got 1-1. 5 " off from the other. going side side to side, my question is will adjusting the equalizer cables fix this? and how should they be adjusted? there equally tight now. thanks

My nephew in NY installs and repairs this kind of lift, If you don't get any results here let me know and I will give him a call

Just so you and everyone else knows, adjusting the cables will take care of mis-aligned lifting arms. It is very simple and part of every lift set-up, just take your time and use a 4 or 6' level to get the arms at the same point. If the lift is new, make sure you have the air out of the system before you get to serious about the arms, it makes a big difference.
