Quick question; will relocating the lift pump compromise the warranty? Being new to the CTD, I've read many of the lift pump info here and gathering parts to possibly move the pump in hopes of avoiding the potential downfalls of a failing pump.

Thanks for the help.

Theoretically, you haven't altered anything, you just relocated it, meaning that it would be covered under warranty. That being said, most dealers would rather just send you down the line than fix something under warranty that is not exactly as it came from the factory. If the dealer wouldn't warranty it, you could use the Magnuson-Moss Act, but it would be your time and dime to fight the dealer. I would talk with the dealer, and then get it in writing that it wouldn't affect the warranty.

I seriously doubt they would cover it. Granted that it is the stock parts only relocated. But the dealer I presume will not do the relocation and therefore has no control over the work performed. I think that a dealer could rightfully decline any warrantee work as related to this specific modification.
