Lift pump availability

If anyone is interested when I ordered my new lift pump (part#3990105) from Northwest Cummins in Oklahoma City the parts guy told me they showed to have 17 of them in stock in the Dallas warehouse. I also ordered the BHAF (marine version) while I was at it.

Lift Pump

They were pretty scarce for awhile. Picked mine up last week after a 3 week wait. When I went in to order one from Cummins, they were not aware of any lift pump problems, however, none were available anywhere



Am very pleased with the new pump. Pressures are way up.

I just installed the new pump and the pressure is great. 15 pounds idle, 6-8 at WOT and 12 cruising at 70. I was getting 8-10 at a idle and nothing at WOT on the old pump. It feels quite abit stronger on the top end. I'm right at 28000 miles.

whats the difference in the "marine" version???

I just walked into Cummins (MidStates?) last week and picked one up. No wait no fuss.



The guy working the parts counter had the part # memorized!

Marine version includes an inner screen to support damp or wet filter media better, but costs over twice as much. Fleetguard says ratings (% efficiency and grams capacity) are the same.

From what I understand the marine version has a metal screen on the inside, most likely works as a some sort of spark arrester.
