i have a 2000 2500 with 175k miles on it and it is getting harder to start and now it is blowing alot of smoke compared to before and no changes done except for one sled pull and after that is when i noticed alot more smoke. when in park and i rev the motor some times it will cough and then at the end blow a puff of white smoke. oh and the truck has an edge ez, silencer ring removed, straight piped to stacks.

Hard start could be related to a lift pump going south, and not giving the vp-44 the initial "prime" before starting. The smoke I would say is coming from either a failing Vp-44 or a boost leak. Check your intercooler boots for tears and also check for clamps coming off. If they are good, then your injection pump could be taking a dump. Check for codes too.
