Just wanted to reaffirm what others have said - that a fuel gauge is a very good item to install. In my opinion, even forego the boost gauge (EGT gauge definately 1rst) if necessary. I just got 1rst hand experience in how quickly a lift pump can go with no power loss symptoms at all. I installed my gauge a little over a month ago and had pressures of 15 idle, 12 cruise, 7-8 WOT. No difference after a bombing trip to Vegas about 2 weeks ago. I thought I had a work horse for my lift pump! Sunday took a trip and parked the truck with 15 psi. Monday started it up and it struggled to get to 9, headed for the interstate to see what was up and it dropped to 3 just easing up to 60 mph. Turned around and parked it. I had already discussed the new mods with the service manager at Bob Ruwart Motors in Wheatland beforehand and he had told me to just come talk to him if anything came up. Well I didn't think it would be this soon but time to find out. They replaced it without any questions, had one in stock even
. When he delivered it (they do deliver out here) he made the comment that the mechanic figured the gauge probably saved an injection pump! Long post but seems like all we hear about is lousy dealers so wanted to tell about a good one (BOB RUWART MOTORS) and how important the fuel gauge is!
P. S. Better add that I am in no way connected with Bob Ruwart Motors or Diesel Dynamics!
