I went to my parents house on Sunday in Lindsay, OK. On my way out of town (250mi from home at 6pm on Easter) the fuel pressure started getting irratic. It would drop to nothing come back to 5 or even 12. Cycling the key would usually bring pressure back.
I drove home worrying and watching the gauge constantly I managed to keep 12 psi most of the way home. I called my normal dealer on Monday morning and they did not have parts and could not see me until the next day, so I called Mark Roberts Dodge in Bartlesville,OK(25 mi away). They had the pump in stock and asked when I could get there. On my way to the shop I was showing from 0-3 psi.
45 min later I was in their shop.
An hour later I was back on the road.
My ODO was reading 36,3xx mi when I pulled in. They covered it under the engine warranty and were very courteous and fast.
The tech said the only problems he sees with CTDs are lift pumps and trackbars. He also told me the there is in fact a new part number for the lift pump (I didn't get it) and that there have been no repeats after the new pumps.
Positive dealer feedback for a change.
