Lift pump died!

Well after reading about all the lift pump problems, and thinking I was going to be lucky, I got bit. Didn't really notice any driveability problems. Just went to change the fuel filter and could not get it to prime the filter. got out the manual and have all the right power to the pump. smacked it with a hammer and it started to work. Well to the dealer we go! Called this morning and yes it covered, no cost to me. Guess all dealers aren't scum.

Welcome to the club - our membership keeps growing and growing! I'm glad that you have a good dealer. I'm hoping that I've permanently solved my lift pump problems now ( https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19767 ) - I went through 4 stock lift pumps in 75,000 miles.

Mine has started to head south as well. Installed my fuel pressure gauge on Sunday and went for a drive. 10 psi idle, 7. 5 psi cruise and ZERO at WOT. It actually caused the gauge to fall below zero. Took it in yesterday and the dealer verified my readings. New pump on order...
