Go figure, 65K on my truck and I figure I'd better check fuel pressure. Idle pressure AFTER the filter was 14 PSI which I am told is well within spec.
I wonder if these failures could be related to where you purchase your diesel? For example, in California I understand they have extra low sulfur diesel. Are they having more problems there?
The parts manager at the local Dodge dealer is a buddy of mine. He said so far they have had only five or six lift pump failures. Since they sell about 10 diesels per month (they sell a lot of diesels here) that is a pretty low failure rate. Only about 1. 5%.
