I bought a new lift pump from Cummins ($139) over the phone. The parts person said I would need a new gasket, for $1. 38, but when the pump arrived, the invoice said no gasket was required. Those of you who have installed these things, is there a gasket? I don't want to tear things apart, only to find I am missing a gasket.

Huh?

There is no gasket required for the pump. There are small ring gaskets that go between both banjo bolts and the inlet and outlet ports of the pump, but you already have them. Be careful not to drop them when you pull the banjo bolts out of the old lift pump.

Thanks John! That's what I thought, but better safe than sorry. Speaking of "sorry", that is what I have always found my local Cummins dealer to be. Guess they can't all be great. Depends on the people involved.

My pump just arrived today and they included 4 banjo bolt "gaskets" with the pump. It was on the invoice and listed as "Required" for the install.
